the green smoothie, turned into breakfast. blend it thicker, pour it into a bowl, then put back the things a smoothie usually takes away. granola for the crunch, fruit for the sharpness, a spoon instead of a straw.
one scoop of vanilla underneath it all.
what you need
- 1 frozen banana
- a handful of frozen pineapple
- a big handful of kale or spinach
- 1 scoop (35g) naturally, vanilla protein
- 60 to 100ml coconut water, just enough to blend
- to top: granola, blueberries, coconut flakes, chopped nuts
how to make it
- Add a splash of coconut water to the blender, then the kale, banana, pineapple and the scoop.
- Blend on low, pushing it down with the tamper, adding liquid a little at a time. You want it thick enough to hold a spoon.
- Scrape into a bowl.
- Top with granola, blueberries, coconut and nuts, and eat it with a spoon.

a few notes
the trick is less liquid than you think. a smoothie bowl is a smoothie that's been told to sit still. if the blender stalls, stop, stir and go again before you add more liquid.
one scoop is 35g of powder and 25g of protein, with 140 calories, 3g net carbs and 0.34g of sugar. those numbers are printed on the back of every pack.
it's the bowl version of the green smoothie from our cart at Echo Beach, Tuesday to Sunday from 4 to 7pm. made with naturally, vanilla.
